Land Access and Indigenous Relations Committee

Tasks:

  • Promote development of land access provisions that create mutual advantage
  • Promote best practice in relationships with traditional owners
  • Provide advice on legislative and regulatory matters as they relate to land access
  • Provide informed comment on land access matters
  • Devise policy on land access for the NTRC

  • Code of Conduct for Minerals Explorers in the NT
  • ALRA and other native title legislation
  • Sacred and significant sites legislation
  • Relationships with Land Councils
  • Land use agreements

Infrastructure and Economic Development Committee

Tasks:

  • Promote development of effective transport infrastructure that supports the resources industry
  • Promote development of efficient utilities, power, water and pipelines
  • Promote taxation policies that serve to encourage business
  • Influence regional economic development in support of the resources industry
  • Devise policy on infrastructure and economic development for the NTRC

  • Roads, rail and port and interface between them
  • Utilities
  • Taxation and other Government charges
  • The NT economy and policies that provide positive economic drivers
  • Corporate capacity enhancement

Training and Employment Committee

Tasks:

  • Promote development of a work ready skilled population
  • Promote the NTRC members as employers of choice
  • Provide informed comment on training and employment Devise training and employment policy for the NTRC

Occupational Health and Safety Committee

Tasks:

  • Promote best practice in OHS
  • Provide advice on OHS legislative and regulatory matters
